FAQ

Simply submit your music via MREC Entertainment, wait a few days for the retailers to match it to the existing versions, and then request that your present distributor remove the old version.

To ensure that your playlist placements and play counts are preserved throughout the transfer, please supply the following information when uploading your music to MREC Entertainment:

You must utilize the same audio files, artwork, artist name(s), and titles that you did for the initial release.
Each track’s original UPC code and ISRC
The original publish date
When it goes live:

It may take up to five days for stores to match your release to the current product once we have authorized and released it. You may see 2 separate versions of your music on the services at this period.

If your music shows with the ‘1 more release’ button as shown below, it implies your release has matched and you may delete it from the other distributor.

You do! Artists’ ownership or intellectual property rights are not taken by MREC Entertainment. You retain complete ownership and rights to your music.

How to add the YouTube user?

You can link your YouTube channel to platform by only copying your official YouTube channel URL.

We apply a strict Quality Control (aka ‘QA’) procedure on the platform to ensure that the audio and visual material submitted into our platform properly satisfies the retailers’ standards and minimize any chances of content rejection due to formatting errors.

Our automatic program carefully analyzes every provided material, and any conformance mistake is documented and reported by the system.

In addition to the automatic QA control, the content team manually checks every “suspect” material for copyright infringement or possible content ownership concerns.

All material that has been on QC for more than 10 days without a modification from the content source (artist, label, content provider) will be removed from the Quality Control process queue.

The same material may be supplied again, and if so, it will be subjected to QC once again.

The term Validation refers to all information that has already been evaluated by the QC team. A distribution order from the end-user is required to begin the process.

The validation procedure can take up to 2-3 business days. If there are exceptional circumstances at the content level, the review period by the QC team may take longer than the stipulated duration.

Depending on the status of the content evaluated, the act of Validation may overlap with one of the following two actions:

Approved. It signifies that the content meets our Quality Control requirements, thus it is approved and automatically disseminated to the end-preferred user’s Digital Music Services.

Ticket. When a piece of material is not authorized, a ticket is produced to explain why it is not eligible for approval, so that the client can be informed and the problem can be resolved.

The user has 10 days from the creation of the ticket to rectify the content and engage with MREC Entertainment’s QC staff. Otherwise, the content will be rejected after 10 days.

If you wish to release any songs before the entire album is released as a single format, you must do it individually.

You must select the ‘Create a release’ button and define its format in the ‘Album format’ section using tab 1. Info Album.

Continue with the distribution by selecting’single’ format.

*Please keep in mind that in order to distribute a single, the title, artist name, and version must all be the same on the album and track level*

Each single/EP/album is considered a separate product with its own UPC code.

If you want to share the entire album later, you must create a new release.

There is no other way to organize them except to make a new release. To do so, use the same tracks that have already been distributed (as singles) from your library (to keep the same ISRC codes) and add the new ones from your PC.

Finally, the singles will be distributed on one side and the entire album will be issued separately on the other.

You can choose to remove the singles if you wish.

Minimum audio resolution

The minimum requirements for uploading audio masters are:

  • WAV at 16 bit depth, 44.1KHz, stereo.
  • FLAC at 16 bit depth, 44.1KHz, stereo.

 Bit depthSampling rateStereoFormat

No. In order to reflect any changes in audio, metadata or pricing, the album needs to be redistributed. As it is being sent for the second time, it will be marked as an update.

The following mistakes are very common. So to avoid any possible inconvenience related to the QC process, please take note of the following rules:

1. Redundant information

  • The terminology “Original Mix” or “Main Mix” and similar expressions, is not accepted in the cover art.
  • Credits such as copyright owner(s), cover art designer(s) are not accepted in the cover art.

2. Languages

  • Instrumental tracks should be marked as “non linguistic content” in the language field.
  • If a track contains intelligible vocals (such as speech fragments, short sentences, single words, etc.) the language of those vocal parts must be selected as the language of that track. But when it comes to album level, the language in which the title is written, is the one that must be selected.

For example:

If an album’s title is “Love”, but all tracks are instrumental, all tracks should be marked as “non linguistic content” and album’s language should be marked as “English”.

3. Artist roles

  • The remixers should not and must never be marked as primary artists, in track or album level.
  • “Remixers” should only be assigned as remixer at album level, if the release contains only one track, and that track is a remix. Otherwise,”Remixers” must be assigned only at track level.

4. Format

  • Format types (such as Album, Single or EP) must not be included in the cover art.

5. Dj sets and continuous mixes:

  • Dj sets (with own or other’s artists tracks) and continuous mixes (that is, putting all the tracks of an album together in a single track creating a continuous mix), are not allowed by the channels.

Stores usually report an entire month’s sales to the tenant on a two-month delay.

For example, if a sale of your music occurred in February, you would receive the money and sales reports in April.
We post the sales reports to your account as soon as these are made available to us by the stores.

In case you did not have any sales activity for a particular month in any store, you will not receive a sales report for that month.
